Leeds United have fought back superbly to pull themselves out of a relegation battle but they aren’t totally safe yet and next up, they take on Manchester City

The Elland Road outfit have not tasted defeat in their last five matches across all competitions but Man City go into this match at the back of a 4-3 win over the Real Madrid. City do have the 2nd leg next week but Pep Guardiola’s side cannot afford to take their foot off the peddle in the EPL because Liverpool are breathing down their necks.

City are ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League table by just a single point so they have to pick up a win against Leeds United which means Guardiola cannot afford to rest any of his regular starters.

The last time these two sides met, Man City scored seven goals past Leeds United but this Leeds side is managed by Jesse Marsch so the scoreline should be a lot different, even though we completely expect the visitors to dominate.

Leeds United vs Man City team news:

Leeds United:

Jesse Marsch has several injuries to deal with before Saturday’s game since the likes of Shackleton will be touch and go.

Last week, the manager had updated that Bamford is going to return to training this week so he’s also going to miss the Leeds United vs Man City tie.

Marsch had said: “He’s making good progress. He’s been running on the AlterG and should be on the training pitch next week.”

With Bamford missing, the Leeds United boss will keep faith on Dan James to play as the centre-forward.

Tyler Roberts and Adam Forshaw are two players who are ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Manchester City:

Guardiola’s side failed to kill off Madrid in the 1st leg as that would have been a golden opportunity for him to rest some players on Saturday.

Now, he has to go ahead and select his strongest XI which will be a cause for concern for him. The last thing he will want is to add any more names to the injury list because the likes of Kyle Walker and John Stones are both expected to miss out.

Stones picked up a knock during Tuesday’s tie so he definitely misses out and we think the Man City boss will not risk using Kyle Walker on Saturday.
