Brendan Rodgers Leicester City vs Man United

Leicester have dropped from the second spot during the past couple of weeks after having lost three out of their last six Premier League matches.

And they could slide down even further this weekend since they take on Chelsea at home on Saturday.

Leicester are undefeated in their last 5 matches against Chelsea in all competitions and this season they have played superbly under manager Brendan Rodgers but their form has been on the decline during the past couple of matches.

The Foxes are straight out of a loss in the EFL Cup semi-finals at the hands of Aston Villa and many believe Chelsea could use this shock loss to their advantage and pick up all three points at the King Power this weekend.

Leicester City team news vs Chelsea:

Rodgers used a three-man backline vs Villa during midweek but the Leicester manager is expected to revert back to a conventional 4-5-1 formation vs the Blues.

Daniel Amartey and Nampalys Mendy are both ruled out of the match with Mendy expected to return back to action only in March while the former has no return date yet.

Chilwell played in central defence alongside Evans and Soyuncu but he will move back to his left-back role vs Chelsea on Saturday.

Wilfred Ndidi has returned back to full fitness and played in the EFL Cup semi-final and is also scheduled to start in defensive midfield for the Foxes this weekend.

Midfielder Mathew James is pretty close to full fitness but this game vs the Blues will surely come a bit early for him to make a comeback to the first-team squad.

Youri Tielemans played the full match vs Aston Villa during midweek meaning there’s a big chance that he moves to the bench in order to make way for Dennis Praet.

Ayoze Perez and James Maddison will both keep their place in the starting line-up for Leicester City.

Jamie Vardy started on the bench in midweek and only came on as a substitute for the Foxes. But vs Chelsea, the Englishman will most certainly lead the line.

Leicester are currently 8 points ahead of the Blues meaning if they cannot pick up a win on Saturday then the gap between them and the fourth spot will only come down to five points and then there’s a huge risk that the other Champions League aspirants might catch up with them.
