Lionel Messi is without a doubt one of the best players in world football right now and this has been the case for more than a decade.
The only player who can even come close to Lionel Messi is Cristiano Ronaldo who himself recently said that he along with the Argentine are two of the best in the footballing world.
We are pretty sure that no one will dare deny with this statement from the Portuguese but recent statements from the La Liga president clearly shows that the Spaniard are pushing it a bit too far with this Lionel Messi admiration.
La Liga president Javier Tebas has recently hinted at an interview that he is open to naming an award named after Lionel Messi.
“We will have to think about it,” he said (via the Independent).
“I believe that Messi will be the greatest player of all time, even if he isn’t already.
“Messi has been playing since he was a kid and always at the absolute top, top level and he never wavers.

“It would be a good idea to create a trophy in the future for the best player of that season that has Messi’s name on it.
“It’s as if he sees the game from afar, at the same time as he is playing.
“He is not human.
“He never rises to provocation, and he is a great example to both the world of football and to every young person who plays the sport.”
While we firmly believe that Lionel Messi deserves every bit of accolade he gets but isn’t it pushing a bit too far by talking about just a huge honour while the Argentine is very much active in the footballing world?
And this statement is not coming from a football pundit or fan but the president of the La Liga – the top division of Spanish football.
