After the draw vs Everton in the Premier League this weekend, Liverpool have now slipped down to the second spot on the league table.

Liverpool are currently one point behind league leaders Manchester City, and with nine games to go, Jurgen Klopp just cannot afford yet another slip-up.

During the end of December 2018, Liverpool were seven points clear at the top and many pundits believed that the Anfield outfit might be able to hold onto that lead.

But right now most people are placing their bets on Man City retaining their Premier League title.

And Sam Allardyce has now come out to say that Liverpool do not have the appetite for winning the league.

“The pressure is enormous. Liverpool have only lost one game this season, and it looks to me like the fear of winning the league is as it was with Brendan [Rodgers] a few years ago,” Allardyce told talkSPORT(as reported).

“That is the big hurdle Klopp certainly faces – ‘how do I mentally get my team over the line to try and win the league’.

“We thought they’d overcome those jitters in midweek when they won 5-0 [against Watford ], but there were one or two moments yesterday where you thought they were going to win the game – but clinically they weren’t good enough.

“It looks like a little bit of fear to me.”

Liverpool dropped points vs Man United last week and just seven days later they were held to a 0-0 draw by Everton.

Some die-hard Reds fans still feel that Jurgen Klopp will be able to work his magic but most pundits are putting Manchester City in the driver’s seat given Pep Guardiola’s experience in such situations.
