Nabil Fekir to Arsenal

Liverpool were said to be in advance talks with Lyon in order to sign attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir but the move hit a dead wall – quite mysteriously.

After the deal collapsed a series of rumours surfaced as to why Liverpool were unable to sign the 24-year-old and amongst all these rumours the possibility of a failed medical was cited the maximum number of times.

And immediately the announcement was made public, Lyon released an official statement claiming that they have every intention of keeping Nabil Fekir at the club for the upcoming campaign.

The statement read“Although Liverpool made the possible transfer of Nabil a priority, and [we have been] subject to other proposals consistent with the interests of Nabil and OL from ambitious clubs, Olympique Lyonnais is delighted soon to be able to count on the presence of our captain, who is a leading player for this 2018-19 season, during which the club will play the Champions League as a third seed,”

When everything seemed lost for Liverpool, Nabil Fekir’s agent Jean-Pierre Bernes has gone onto claim that the midfielder moving out of Lyon is still a possibility.

Talking to LCI, Fekir’s agent said: “Well, he didn’t sign because well… it is not over!

“This is not the end of the story.”

Nabil Fekir is without a doubt the crown jewel for Lyon having scored 18 goals in 29 appearances in Ligue 1 last season. And this statement from the player’s agent will surely come as a huge boost for the Liverpool management.

Nabil Fekir isn’t the only player who is targeted by Liverpool though as multiple reports in England are claiming that if the Reds fail to land the 24-year-old then they might move for PSG star Julian Draxler with the Paris outfit looking to offload players during the summer.
