Liverpool take on Newcastle United in the Premier League this weekend and the Reds fans are hoping to pick up three points so that they still remain in the hunt of the Premier League title.

The Anfield outfit are currently second on the league table – just one point behind Manchester City but with two more games to play, it looks like it will be yet another trophyless season for Jurgen Klopp.

While some expect Rafa Benitez to help out his former club but with a number of injuries, Jurgen Klopp himself might have a few selection headaches going into St James’ Park.

Liverpool news vs Newcastle Utd:

The first major concern will be with the injury of Naby Keita who suffered an abductor injury during the clash vs Barcelona in midweek.

The midfielder had to be taken off before the half-hour mark and now the manager has confirmed that he is likely to be out of action for the next two months.

Jordan Henderson replaced Keita at Camp Nou in a straight swap and the England international will most certainly retain his place vs the Magpies this weekend.

Klopp has also raised concerns with the fitness of Roberto Firmino who came off the bench vs Barcelona and reports suggest the Brazilian will go through a late fitness test this weekend.

But we feel the forward should be fit enough to play vs Newcastle United meaning the front three will remain the same for Liverpool.

Joe Gomez played as the right-back in the Champions League clash but Trent Alexander Arnold will return back to the starting line up this weekend.

There is also a slight possibility that both Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren start on the bench vs Newcastle United and Joe Gomez gets to play in central defence alongside Virgil Van Dijk.
