Liverpool were held to a 3-3 draw by Brentford in the Premier League but that one point was enough to secure the top spot on the table. Now, the English outfit will have to shift their focus to the Champions League where they take on FC Porto, away from home.

LFC made a winning start to their 21/22 Champions League campaign and they will be eager to keep that run going this week as well. And since Porto have not been able to beat Liverpool even once in their previous eight meetings, we expect the Anfield outfit to pick up all three points this time around as well.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have an all-important Premier League game vs Manchester City next weekend so the German boss will undoubtedly have one eye on the City game. And this could prompt him to rest some key first-team players in midweek vs Porto.

We expect Liverpool to pick up a win on Tuesday but Brentford have shown that the Anfield outfit have several cracks in their side, especially on the right-hand side of defence. So, if the Portuguese side can manage to keep the scoreline 0-0 for the first 60 minutes then there’s every chance they take something out of this game.

Liverpool’s team news vs FC Porto:

Van Dijk and Joel Matip have been the first-choice central defensive pairing for Liverpool this season but there’s a big chance that Van Dijk is going to be rested in midweek.

The manager does have options like Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez so he will want to keep VVD fully fit for the Manchester City clash.

Left-back Andy Robertson could also be rested as Kostas Tsimikas pushes for a place in the starting line-up.

Thiago Alcantara remains on the sidelines with a calf injury meaning Fabinho and Jordan Henderson are guaranteed starters. Naby Keita is another midfielder who is on the sidelines with an injury meaning either Curtis Jones keeps his place in the side from the Brentford game or James Milner comes into the first XI.

The Liverpool front-three more or less select themselves but since Diogo Jota played the full 90 minutes vs Brentford, he is going to be replaced by Roberto Firmino up front.

Liverpool predicted line up vs FC Porto:

Predicted Starting Line up: Alisson; TAA; Matip, Konate/Gomez, Tsimikas; Fabinho, Henderson, Jones/Milner; Salah, Mane, Firmino/Jota.
