After two disappointing results against Madrid and Palace, Liverpool finally got back to winning ways by beating Wolves in midweek and next up, they welcome Manchester United.
Liverpool are having an underwhelming season but still, they are just six points away from the top-four spot on the Premier League table. A win on Sunday vs United will help them come within touching distance of Spurs but beating Manchester United won’t be an easy task this time around.
The Anfield outfit have kept a clean sheet in their last four matches in the Premier League but unlike the previous seasons, they are not consistent at all so they will have to work their socks to be able to match up with the visitors.
Liverpool have scored 14 goals in their previous four league meetings but this is a very different Manchester United so things will be much more close on Sunday.
Liverpool’s team news and injuries:
Thiago and Luis Diaz are both ruled out with injuries while Calvin Ramsey is out for the rest of the season.
Joe Gomez is also likely to be unavailable which means Konate will partner Van Dijk in defence but Klopp also has the option of using Joel Matip.
Jurgen Klopp has heavily relied on Bajcetic to play in the middle of the park and since Thiago and Arthur are both missing, the youngster should start once again.
Naby Keita picked up a knock against Crystal Palace and he will have to go through a late fitness on Sunday. If he is available then he will be in the run-in to start otherwise Bajcetic holds onto his place.
Cody Gakpo played only 14 minutes in midweek as a sub but he will come back into the starting line up against Manchester United. If the Liverpool boss plans to use Gakpo through the middle then Darwin Nunez will have to be content with a place on the bench because Jota is much more suited to a wider role.
