Liverpool finally managed to pick up their maiden Premier League title last season and courtesy of that, they will be taking on Arsenal in the Community Shield this weekend.

The Reds were knocked out of the Champions League which is why they have had a lot of time to prepare for the 2020/21 season and over the past couple of weeks, they have been in Austria doing their pre-season training.

Jurgen Klopp has almost a fully fit squad to choose from but we think the manager will be eager to test a few of his youngsters out before the new Premier League season kicks off next month.

But having said that, Klopp should name his strongest XI vs Arsenal on Saturday and the youngsters will only come onto the pitch once the big boys have managed to wrap up the game.

Liverpool team news vs Arsenal:

Virgil van Dijk suffered a head injury in Liverpool’s draw with Salzburg on Tuesday and there’s a doubt if he will feature vs Arsenal or not.

While the defender’s injury is not much of a concern but we will have to wait and see if Jurgen Klopp risks using him. Joe Gomez will be the other centre-back.

Joel Matip has more or less recovered from his ankle injury but the defender is not match-fit yet.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is not likely to feature at Wembley meaning Neco Williams will be at right-back while Andy Robertson plays on the other side of the pitch.

Jordan Henderson has returned to full training but we do not think Jurgen Klopp will risk using him on Saturday especially since he already has players like Wijnaldum and Naby Keita at his disposal.

Fabinho will reprise his role in defensive midfield with Naby Keita and Wijanldum playing a bit further upfront.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is still recovering from a knee injury and the England international will not be fit in time for the Community Shield game this weekend.

The front three more or less select themselves but it will be interesting to see how Sadio Mane acts out especially since the winger has been linked with a move to FC Barcelona over the past couple of days.
