Liverpool take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this weekend and this high-profile encounter comes at a really bad time for both the teams.

The Liverpool vs Spurs comes directly after the international break and most of the big names from either side have been involved with their national sides during this time.

Players like Jordan Henderson, Harry Kane and Dele Alli have been involved in the EURO 2020 qualifiers while the non-European players have been playing friendlies.

And according to Liverpool legend Steve McManaman, the international break could have a major impact on the Liverpool vs Spurs clash on Sunday.

“The way Liverpool play, the way Tottenham play, it’s going to be on TV, I presume, on Sunday,” said McManaman.

“A lot of it depends on how everybody comes back from the international period, a lot of lads have travelled far distances.

“You need a bit of luck with people coming back fit and well without being injured. You hope everybody comes back alright and may the best team win.”

McManaman has hit the nail on the head as far as we are concerned.

Spurs have already lost the likes of Eric Dier and Serge Aurier both of whom have picked up injuries during the international break.

Liverpool might have a fit squad but most of their first-team regulars have been involved with their respective national teams during the past week.

And fatigue will play a major role in deciding the outcome of this match.

While most people are expecting an end to end encounter but eventually the Liverpool vs Spurs game might turn out to be a cagey affair and the outcome could be decided by only a single goal.
