West Ham United have already splurged over £100 million during the summer transfer window and it seems that they are on the verge of signing yet another player.

Manuel Pellegrini has added players to every department in his squad and the only thing lacking was a good backup forward to Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic.

And now it seems that they have finally got their man in the form of Arsenal forward Lucas Perez.

The Hammers’ interest in the 29-year-old has been no secret and it was only yesterday that we had reported about the London outfit trying to secure a move for Perez by Monday.

While that has not been possible but Lucas Perez’s agent has gone on record to confirm that West Ham United are officially interested in signing the forward.

Talking to ESPN, Perez’s agent Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle said: “I know that West Ham want him and they have made an offer,

“It is an option. Lucas is happy at Arsenal but he wants to play regularly and West Ham is an option for him.

“There are other clubs interested but joining West Ham would allow him to continue in London and in the Premier League and Lucas wants to continue in London.

“In Spain, there are also interest from some clubs, but they are not willing to assume the transfer.”

The deal is expected to be finalized late on Monday and Lucas Perez is set to move ahead with the formalities on Tuesday.

But the Gunners in a bid to offload him quickly have chosen to sell him off to a local rival for a fee which is being estimated to be in the region of £4 to £5 million which is a substantial loss given the fact that he was purchased from Deportivo for a fee of around £17.1 million.

After selling off Lucas Perez to West Ham, Arsenal now have plans to offload Danny Welbeck after the forward was told by Unai Emery that he is not wanted at the club any more.
