Rangers FC are one of the frontrunners in signing Lyndon Dykes from Livingston this summer and it looks like Gerrard has received a massive boost in this transfer race.
Livingston has gone on to sign striker Salim Kouider-Aissa from Scottish League Two side Queen’s Park FC and according to Noel Whelan, the 24-year-old might be the replacement to Lyndon Dykes next season.
“When a team makes a signing in a position where the player currently playing that position has been linked with another club, it looks to me like a replacement,” he told Football Insider.
“That then paves the way for that player to make a transfer.
“Teams will not let a player go unless they have somebody to cover that position. Now that deal has been done it is like a chain reaction.
“Livingston have got their replacement in so the door is open for Dykes to leave.”
The club would like to send our best wishes to @salimkouidermo who has made the step up to the Premiership and joined @LiviFCOfficial. Good luck for the future, Sal.

This is great news for the Gers since Gerrard is actively looking to bring in a new centre-forward before the 2020-21 season kicks off and they have been keeping tabs on Lyndon Dykes for some time now.
Last season, Dykes scored nine and assisted eight goals in the Premiership for Livingston and the 24-year-old will be the perfect addition to the Gers squad.
Lyndon Dykes is not the only player who is being chased by Rangers right now but the Australian might be the most likely to arrive at Ibrox during the course of the summer.
