Man City picked up a 1-0 win vs Spurs on Saturday and next up they take on Manchester United in a high-profile midweek fixture.

United are the last top-six side that Guardiola’s men will face before the end of the season and if they can manage to pick up three points at Old Trafford surely alarm bells will be ringing all over Merseyside.

And given how pathetically Man United performed vs Everton on Sunday, many expect the Citizens to run riot during the derby.

But Bernardo Silva though explained that Man United will not be an easy team especially with them fighting tooth and nail for a top-four finish.

Silva said: “We are so happy with the win (on Saturday) and now it’s on to another tough one against Manchester United which I think will be crucial for the title.

“It’s a big game for us, a big game for them. They need points to be in the top four and we need them to fight for the title.

“So we expect a very difficult game against one of the best sides in England.

“They will be motivated to beat us and we look forward to it. We know we need the win, and the pressure is on – but that’s a good thing.”

United are in kind of a dilemma because if they beat Man City then surely it will be advantage Liverpool in the title race and the last thing the Old Trafford faithful want to see is their arch-rivals lifting that trophy.

But all said and done, this timid Man United side just does have the potential to stand up against Pep Guardiola’s Man City even if they wanted too.

And picking up a handsome win is far beyond their dreams.

So it looks like Man City are on the brink of yet another win in the Manchester Derby and this could be one of the more crucial ones in recent memory.
