Arsenal will take on Manchester City at the Eithad this Sunday and the Gunners will have the chance to consolidate their place in top four.
After Chelsea lost 4-0 to Bournemouth in midweek, the Gunners have managed to move up to the fourth spot on the Premier League table.
And now reports suggest that Unai Emery has received a huge injury boost before they travel to Manchester City.
Laurent Koscielny injured his jaw during Arsenal’s FA Cup defeat at the hands of Manchester United last week and initially, the injury looked to be very serious.
Koscielny was caught by a frailing boot from Romelu Lukaku and he immediately collapsed on the ground where he was treated for more than 10 minutes by the medical staff.
But that treatment was not enough and Laurent Koscielny had to be taken off forcing Granit Xhaka to play in central defence.
The Frenchman also missed the game vs Cardiff City in midweek and there was a huge doubt about his availability this weekend.
But now reports are suggesting that Laurent Koscielny will hopefully be fit to take on Manchester City.
The rumours have it that Laurent Koscielny is recovering quickly and will go through a late fitness test.
If Koscielny can make himself fit then it will be a huge boost for Unai Emery since Sokratis is out with an ankle injury.
Right now Shkodran Mustafi is the only fit defender for Arsenal and if Laurent Koscielny remains an absentee then Nacho Monreal might be forced to play in central defence alongside Mustafi.
Sokratis’ ankle injury is not too serious but the defender will not be fit in time to make it to the matchday squad vs Manchester City.
So all hopes now defend on Laurent Koscielny’s late fitness test on Sunday.
