West Ham United have lost three games in a row and with Liverpool coming to the London Stadium, that record could stretch even more.

Liverpool have been dealing with their own injury concerns and Jurgen Klopp’s men failed to pick up a win vs Leicester City in midweek.

But as things stand, the Hammers’ injury list is far longer than that of Liverpool’s.

Manuel Pellegrini has a number of first-team players who are recovering from injuries and many of them might miss the high-profile encounter vs Liverpool on Monday.

Amongst all these injuries, the Hammers boss expected to see Samir Nasri back in the first XI after the player picked up a knock during the loss vs Bournemouth.

Now though Claret and Hugh are reporting that the January signing is not expected to return back to full fitness and will have to sit out the game against the Reds.

A Hammers source told C&H: “It’s bad news because we have been lacking that creativity in midfield and could certainly have done with him.”

This will certainly be a huge blow for Pellegrini since the midfielder was one of the best players on the pitch when the Hammers beat Arsenal a couple of games ago.

And if Samir Nasri is really absent on Monday night then West Ham will clearly be lacking that creative spark against Jurgen Klopp’s men.

The likes of Jack Wilshere and Andriy Yarmolenko remain long term absentees and now if Samir Nasri also cannot make it to the matchday squad then Pellegrini will have no other option but to take the direct route of action.

In such a scenario, Andy Carroll will be deployed up front and the likes of Noble and Declan Rice will play long balls in the hope that the former Liverpool man can conjure up some magic.
