Anthony Martial Man United news
Anthony Martial Man United

Anthony Martial arrived at the shores of Manchester a couple of seasons ago from AS Monaco and immediately he became the darling of the fans.

But with each passing season, the Frenchman’s importance has diminished to a point where the forward was not even the second choice for Jose Mourinho this past season.

Martial has fallen down the pecking order at United and with the club signing Alexis Sanchez during the January transfer window, the forward’s game time became even more limited.

And now rumours are ripe that Manchester United are planning to offload Anthony Martial before the start of the next season.

A series of clubs are interested in signing the 22-year-old but Jose Mourinho wants to make sure that the forward is not sold to a direct rival.

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be one of the more favourite destinations for Martial but United are not to keen to let the player move to London.

And in a bid to do so, the Old Trafford outfit are willing to send him back to AS Monaco – the club from where he was originally bought.

But, Man United are not going to sell him outright.

Jose Mourinho is planning for a swap deal for Martial which if it goes through will surely become one of the best deals that the club have pulled out.

It is being claimed that United are willing to send the player back to his old club and in return bring back Kylian Mbappe to Old Trafford.

Mbappe is currently out on loan to PSG and the Paris outfit are expected to buy him permanently in the summer for a transfer fee of £166million.

But PSG’s spending spree last summer has pushed them close a Financial Fair Play ban which could result in them being banned from the Champions League.

As a result of this, PSG are having second thoughts of making Kylian Mbappe’s deal permanent which means that the player is back in the market.

Kylian Mbappe had a wonderful loan spell with PSG last season scoring 21 goals in just 44 games and if Manchester United do make to bring him on board then it will undoubtedly be an upgrade to Anthony Martial.

Tottenham Hotspur fans will surely be a bit disheartened with this bit of news as Pochettino badly needs a skilful player like Anthony Martial.
