Man United bounced back from their heavy defeat to Man City with a win over Everton and next up, they face Newcastle United at home.

Despite the loss to City, Man United are still fifth on the Premier League table, however, Newcastle United are breathing down their necks as they are just one point behind the Red Devils.

United have now won three games on the trot in all competitions but the Magpies are not a walkover opponent because they have scored nine goals in their last two league games. Newcastle are undefeated in 10 of their last 11 matches in the EPL but in general, United have a pretty decent record against the visitors.

Eddie Howe has worked wonders with this NUFC side but Ten Hag is also unfurling his plans at Old Trafford pretty rapidly and given the firepower that Man United have, they should be able to win this one.

Man United’s team news and injuries:

Ten Hag named a very strong side in midweek so most of them will return to the fold on Sunday as well.

Harry Maguire is ruled out but Raphael Varane was on the bench for the UEL game. The Frenchman should be coming back into the first XI in place of Victor Lindelof.

McTominay will be unavailable due to an accumulation of five yellow cards so Casemiro will hold onto his place in defensive midfield. However, Fred will make way for Cristian Eriksen as the third midfielder.

Jadon Sancho made a positive impact after coming off the bench against Omonia so he should be getting a start but it will be interesting to see if the manager benches Antony or Marcus Rashford.

Rashford had a better game than Antony on Thursday night but the summer signing has scored three goals in three Premier League games.

Antony Martial has still not fully recovered from his lower back injury so he will go through a late fitness test to determine his availability on Sunday. If he is not fit then Ronaldo will hold onto his place.

The manager has updated: ‘It’s too early to say something about that. We have to wait; we have to see how it progresses in the coming hours.’

Man United predicted line up vs Newcastle United:

Predicted Starting Line up(4-3-3): De Gea; Dalot, Luke Shaw, Martinez, Varane; Casemiro, Eriksen, Fernandes; Marcus Rashford, Antony/Sancho, Martial/Ronaldo.
