Man United suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of Crystal Palace on the opening day of the new Premier League season and next up they shift their focus to the EFL Cup.

Manchester United take on Championship side Luton Town in the third round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday and the Red Devils are expected to have an easy night.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer named his best possible side on Saturday vs Palace but Wilfried Zaha and co made sure that they came out as the better side after the 90 minutes.

The Man United boss though is expected to rest some of his big-name stars in midweek meaning a lot of fringe players should come into the starting XI at Kenilworth Road.

Man United team news vs Luton Town:

David De Gea will move to the bench meaning Dean Henderson is in line to start his first game for Man United during the 2020/21 season.

Sergio Romero will not be available for selection in midweek since he had been given an extended summer break.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka will come back into the side replacing Timothy Fosu-Mensah at right-back while Luke Shaw will also be given a rest vs Luton Town.

Victor Lindelof had a horror game against Palace and he will most certainly be replaced by Eric Bailly in central defence.

Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes both looked lacklustre last weekend and the duo will drop to the bench in midweek. Some experts though think that if Man United manage to wrap up the game early then Solskjaer could bring them on in order to get their rhythm back.

Van de Beek came off the bench to score United’s only goal vs Palace and the summer signing is a guaranteed starter in midweek vs Luton Town. Nemanja Matic should also find a place in central midfield if he is fully fit.

Martial and Rashford should keep their place from the Premier League opener but some people think Odion Ighalo could also come into the side and replace the Frenchman up top.

Daniel James had yet another disappointing game vs Palace meaning Mason Greenwood will reprise his role on the right flank.
