Manchester United have been on a superb run of form ever since Ole Solskjaer took charge of the club last month.

But the next couple of games will be really testing for the team as well as the caretaker boss.

Next weekend, Man United will take on Arsenal in the FA Cup and on the 13th of February the Red Devils will host PSG in the Champions League.

This will be the first European test for the caretaker boss and when this draw was announced everyone knew that PSG are the favourites to win this game.

But now with Jose Mourinho gone, the atmosphere at Old Trafford has changed and now many believe that Man United have a fighting chance against PSG in the Champions League.

Last weekend, PSG beat Guingamp 9-0 in the Ligue 1 but the thumping win might have come at a huge cost.

Midfielder Marco Verratti was forced off the pitch in the 13th minute of the match and now reports suggest that the midfielder could be ruled off the Man United vs PSG game next month.

“I think that it is serious. Really, it is the worst thing that could have happened to us,” PSG boss Thomas Tuchel said.

“We have several options in midfield – Marco with Marquinhos, Dani (Alves) with Marco, Dani with Julian (Draxler), or Dani with Marquinhos. However, without Marco, and with Presnel (Kimpembe) still injured, we only have one choice.”

And now even PSG have confirmed that Verratti has sprained his left ankle and might be an absentee for the next couple of weeks.

A statement on the club’s website confirmed the initial diagnosis: “The MRI performed on Marco Verratti last night, after the match against Guingamp, confirmed a sprained left ankle without any other injury associated.

“The evolution in the next days after the care and new exams at the beginning of the week will make it possible to specify the time of unavailability of the player.”

PSG will head to Old Trafford on the 13th of next month meaning Marco Verratti still has a lot of time to make himself fit and given that PSG are 13 points clear at the top of the table(with two games in hand), Thomas Tuchel will not really be needing the midfielder’s services during the next couple of domestic games.
