Man United outclassed PSG in the Champions League Round of 16 this week and with that, the Ligue 1 outfit once again failed to move into the quarterfinals.

Romelu Lukaku scored a brace on the night and Marcus Rashford converted a late penalty to help secure a 3-1 victory on the night which meant the Red Devils went through on away goals.

Many fans and pundits have claimed that this was Man United’s best performance ever since Sir Alex retired from the club.

But now Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has gone one step further to claim that this win vs PSG as one of Man United’s greatest achievements ever.

“Other than when they’ve actually won the tournament, I think that is their greatest ever achievement,” Souness said on Irish TV(as reported).

“When you look at the players on the field, I never gave them hope. They’ve always got a chance but it was a very small chance.

“I’m absolutely flabbergasted. They were so well set up.

“It was an example of how you’re not going to be rolled over. They enjoyed a bit of luck on the night but to a man they were heroic.

“I can only think of when they’ve won the tournament as being bigger achievements.

“Some of those players won’t play big parts in Man Utd’s future, but they’ve gone to a team full of big superstars on paper and outmanoeuvred them. They’ve been disciplined in everything they did.

“The only criticism I can offer up is they should’ve got Bailly off sooner than 35 minutes! What a fantastic achievement.”

Before the second leg, no one really gave Man United a chance to qualify for the next round but a combination of great football from the visitors and a bottling mentality from PSG has now helped Man United achieve of one of the more iconic moments in European football.
