Manchester United will host PSG in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 at Old Trafford next week.
And picking up a win vs the Parisian outfit will certainly be an uphill task for Solskjaer’s men.
But the Premier League outfit received a boost a couple of weeks ago when PSG had confirmed that Neymar would miss both the legs with a leg injury.
And now it looks like Marco Verratti could also be ruled out of the Champions League clash.
Marco Verratti injured his ankle last month and initial reports claimed that the midfielder could miss the game vs Man United but then he went on to make a quick recovery.
But PSG boss Thomas Tuchel has now revealed that Marco Verratti has once again injured himself just days after returning back from his initial injury.
“Marco was unable to finish training on Tuesday,” he is quoted as saying by ESPN.
“He had problems and I have to wait until Thursday to be able to take a decision over playing him against Bordeaux.
“Marco’s new issue is something else (not the same ankle), but I do not really know much more.”
So it looks like PSG’s home game against Bordeaux will be a perfect indicator to as to how serious the injury really is.
If Marco Verrattti does not make it to the matchday squad on Saturday then he just might struggle to make himself fit before PSG head to Old Trafford.
The absence of Marco Verratti could be a huge boost for Man United since Solskajer could finally ask his midfielder to play faced paced football across the middle of the pitch.
