Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford managed to play just 16 minutes against Wolves in the FA Cup replay last week before he had to be taken off with a back injury. And right now it looks like the forward is set to remain on the sidelines for a couple of months.

Initial reports from the Telegraph had suggested that the player will be out of action for three months after suffering a stress fracture but now the manager has come out to sort of back those reports saying Marcus Rashford will be out for atleast six weeks.

“Marcus suffered a stress fracture against Wolverhampton,” Solskjaer said.

“I don’t know how long he will be out for, we will give him enough time to heal. Normally six weeks before you get going slightly probably, and then he will need time to get match-fit again.”

The manager further told MUTV that Marcus Rashford actually aggravated his injury while during the Wolves games but hopefully he can recover ahead of schedule.

“He got a couple of knocks and jolts when he came on against Wolves and aggravated his back,” Ole told MUTV and Sky Sports via the club’s official website.

“It’s a stress fracture and it’s not something that’s happened before. It’s so unlucky for Marcus, he’ll be out for a while.

“He’s had some trouble before and we’re going to give him time to recover and rest before we put him back on the pitch. He won’t be back until after the mid-season break. I don’t know long it is, I’m not a doctor but normally a stress fracture is six weeks to heal and then he needs some recovery or some rehab after that probably.

“He’s always recovered quickly before so let’s hope he does that again. This time it takes longer so we just have to keep monitoring him, do another scan over the weekend and see how he is. We’re going to give him the time he needs.“

While many people have been come out to rue Rahsford’s luck since the forward was having a stellar season but we believe that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should take most of the blame for letting such a key player play with an injury despite knowing fully well that aggravating it will lead to dire consequences.

Now the manager has no other option but to go out and make an emergency loan signing this month in order to fill the void left by the injured Marcus Rashford.
