Man United were humiliated by Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday in the Premier League but United legend Roy Keane still thinks the manager should be given more time.

Roy Keane is a man who’s known to always speak his mind even if that means going against the greatest and the dearest of all.

But despite the 2-0 loss at Anfield, the former Man United midfielder feels Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should be given more time to sort things out instead of showing him the door – a mistake that the Man United hierarchy have made quite often in the past.

Keane made these statements during the post-match show as things got a bit heated up between him and Jamie Carragher who did not quite agree with the United legend.

Roy Keane said as quoted by The Standard: “We question that Ole is not up to it and look at his CV, yet other managers at other clubs are given the benefit of the doubt. Give the man a chance.

“Frank Lampard is at Chelsea and I saw Chelsea last night. He has a decent team and couldn’t get the job done. Frank Lampard has lost eight games yet for some reason he’s doing all right. Maybe it’s because he’s English, I don’t know.

“Look at Frank’s CV. He was at Derby and didn’t get promoted and yet he’s got all the answers at Chelsea. He hasn’t.

“Give Ole time. It’s the same with the previous managers. I would’ve given David Moyes more than eight months.

“You’re telling me he didn’t deserve more than eight months? I’d certainly give Ole another year – 100 per cent.”

Ole has just about had one full year as the Manchester United boss so surely the Glazers will not be thinking of showing him the door anytime soon.

Moreover, Roy Keane might have a valid point since the Norwegian has so far made some pretty decent signings and we feel if he can make a couple of new players during the next two transfer windows then surely he’ll be able to build a side strong enough to compete with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.
