Martin Odegaard loan deal has been confirmed: How much are Arsenal paying for the 22 Y/O?

Arsenal have officially signed 22-year-old Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard on a short-term loan deal and the official announcement is likely to happen on Tuesday.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano first broke the news on social media saying: “Ødegaard-Arsenal, here we go!

“The agreement has been reached between Arsenal and Real Madrid for Martin Ødegaard on loan until the end of the season. Medicals pending then Ødegaard will also sign paperworks and join #AFC until June, loan fee will be around £2,5m.

“Mikel Arteta’s call has been key to convince Ødegaard. Real Sociedad was his priority, then Arsenal joined the race and Martin wanted to try Premier League football. Arsenal are waiting for the player next week for medicals and details, then the deal will be announced.”

Loan amount – Ranging from £1.8 million to £2.5 million according to various media outlets.

Wages at Arsenal FC – £38,000-a-week wages.

Option to buy – The loan deal reportedly does not have an option to buy in the summer meaning Martin Odegaard will head back to the Bernabeu at the end of the 2020-21 season.

According to the latest reports, the Real Madrid midfielder spent the whole of Monday at the London Colney where he completed his medical and then went on to meet his new Gunners teammates.
