Manchester United have appointed Ole Solskjaer as their caretaker manager until the end of the season during which the management will try and find the ideal replacement to Jose Mourinho.

A number of names have popped up for the high profile job but the two men who are currently frontrunners are Zinedine Zidane and Mauricio Pochettino.

Zidane has proved himself with Real Madrid, winning three consecutive Champions League but the main problem with him is the fact that the Frenchman is yet to be in charge of a below average squad.

So there is a bit of dilemma as to whether he can do a good rebuilding job at Manchester United.

Mauricio Pochettino is everyone’s favourite right now to become the next Man United boss but the Argentinian has made it clear that he is focusing on Spurs right now.

But according to a report, the Spurs manager is very much interested in taking up the job as he feels this offer is too hard to resist.

Pochettino very well understands that this will be the next big step in his managerial career and hence he does not want this opportunity to pass him by.

Having said that though, any shift of loyalty from the current Spurs boss will only happen once the current season comes to an end – a gamble which Man United are more than ready to take.

Mauricio Pochettino has been working on a shoestring budget ever since he took charge of Spurs but if he moves to Manchester United next summer, the manager will finally be able to spread his wings in the transfer market.

United’s biggest goal this season will be to maintain their Champions League status so that Mauricio Pochettino has something big to aim at in his first season at the club.
