Rangers FC have been making constant new signings under newly appointed manager Steven Gerrard and up until now, the new look team was shaping up just fine.

But as per the latest reports, the Gers have been hit with a major injury blow which could see one of their midfielders out for the Europa League clash.

Rangers midfielder Graham Dorrans recently had to return back to Glasgow from the club’s pre-season training in Spain. News had it that the 31-year-old was feeling pain in his ankle and he is now in Leeds for further check-up.

This is the same ankle that Graham Dorrans injured during the final weeks of the 2017-18 season and sadly the midfielder has not quite been able to recover from the injury.

Reports suggest that Dorrans is now visiting a specialist in Leeds where he will undergo scans and further treatment – if necessary.

Graham Dorrans played 14 games for Rangers last season – scoring 5 goals and providing three assists and he is undoubtedly a key figure in the Gers midfield.

The reoccurrence of the injury is not being taken lightly by the club or the player which can only indicate to the fact that Graham Dorrans will not be available for selection when Rangers take on Shkupi in their Europa League campaign on July 2nd.

The Scottish Sun have also gone onto claim that apart from missing out for the Europa League game, the midfielder could also be an absentee during the first couple of weeks of the season.

But given the fact that Gerrard has made ample signings during the summer and with more players to come in, it should not be a major headache for the manager to find a replacement for Graham Dorrans in midfield.
