Rangers vs Leipzig

Rangers FC are currently third on the Scottish League table with four points and it seems that all the money that the club had spent during the summer transfer window seems to have paid off.

The Light Blues have signed as many as 11 players during the summer and a couple more are still expected to arrive.

But unlike a lot of other managers in England, Steven Gerrard is not totally dependent on his high profile players to provide results.

The manager has been able to provide a nice balance of youth and experience in the team and one player that is sure to have a great season ahead of him is 20-year-old Ross McCrorie.

McCrorie who joined the club as a 14-year-old back in 2012 has slowly and steadily moved into the first team setup and last season Ross McCrorie played 21 games in the league for the Light Blues.

McCrorie can play either in central midfielder or as a defender which makes his truly special for Steven Gerrard but the Scotland U21 has revealed that he can play in almost any position that is sanctioned to him by the manager.

The youngster said: “I think I’m developing great under the gaffer. I see myself as a central midfielder now, that’s where I’ve been playing mostly. I’ve not really been playing anywhere else recently. But wherever the gaffer plays me I’ll try my best and we’ll see how it goes,

“To be honest, I’d rather be thrown in at the deep end playing in the big games. That’s how you are going to learn.

“Obviously I’ve been playing my best football in centre mid and that’s where I’ve been playing recently, so that must be where the gaffer sees me in future. But it comes down to this – I’m a Rangers fan so I’d play anywhere for this club.”

This season Ross McCrorie has played six games for the Gers including the Europa League qualifiers and is expected to have an extended role in the first eleven this season.
