Liverpool beat Crystal Palace in a high-intensity game in the Premier League this past weekend meaning their four-point gap at the top of the table is still intact.

The Reds won the game 4-3 and Mo Salah managed to score a brace while the other two goals came from Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

James Milner was sent off in the second half after receiving a second yellow card but it was Mo Salah who was once again the talking point of the match.

Salah has been in the limelight during the past couple of games after winning penalties against Newcastle United, Arsenal and Brighton.

And in most of those cases, the Egyptian went down rather easily and even during the Palace game Mo Salah tried to do the same.

Mo Salah has received a lot of criticism for his diving and according to Chris Sutton, Liverpool could pay the ultimate price due to this.

“Every time he[Mo Salah] dives, he risks costing Liverpool the Premier League title,” Sutton said.

“His tumble against Palace was the second time in the last month that Salah has gone down easily,”

“If he keeps diving, he risks being hit with a two-game FA ban. Liverpool only need to slip up twice to put Manchester City back in the title driving seat.

“Without Salah’s firepower, would Liverpool have won the topsy-turvy game against Palace? This match proved that Klopp needs his main man available for every game.

“When Mo Salah stays on his feet, he is one of the most exciting players in the Premier League.

“I love the way he is capable of blowing away teams at will. It would be a travesty if it is simulation, not his goalscoring, which ends up settling the most thrilling title race for years.”

Manchester City beat Huddersfield 3-0 this past weekend and the Citizens next big game will be against Arsenal at the start of February while Liverpool will face their next toughest test at the end of next month when Jurgen Klopp’s men will travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United.
