Tottenham Hotspur have not signed a single player during the summer transfer window but Mauricio Pochettino’s side made a winning start to the new campaign.
Spurs won their opening game of the new Premier League season 2-1 against Newcastle United thanks to goals Jan Vertonghen and Dele Alli within the first 20 minutes of the match.
But after the match, the Lilywhites looked to be in a fair bit of trouble after reports suggested that Moussa Sissoko could face a retrospective ban for stamping on Newcastle United winger Kennedy.
Sissoko was caught in a tussle with the Brazilian after a foul and it was during this time that the ex-Newcastle United man stood on the back of Kennedy’s leg.
This incident though was not noticed by referee Martin Atkinson at the time but reports suggested that the player could be handed a retrospective ban for the stamp.
But now it seems that Moussa Sissoko has escaped a punishment and will not be receiving a ban from the Football Association after the match officials have claimed that they had seen it during the game which has scrapped the possibility of any further investigations.
