Celtic FC recently appointed Neil Lennon as their new manager after Brendan Rodgers chose to move back to the Premier League.
After having a number of successful seasons with the Bhoys, Rodgers chose to join EPL side Leicester City immediately after the Foxes sacked Claude Puel.
This has come as a shock for most of the Celtic fans but they believe Neil Lennon is more than capable enough to handle the team until the end of the season having already managed the club before.
Neil Lennon has been chosen as the caretaker manager until the club management look for a new permanent successor but people like Kenny Dalglish feel that if Lennon can do his job well then there is every possibility that he might stay on for the next season.
And it looks like even the 47-year-old is well aware of this fact.
According to some reports, Neil Lennon wants to have a say about the transfer market business that Celtic do until they choose a new boss.
“I am meeting with Peter (Lawwell, chief executive) on Wednesday and with Lee (Congerton, head of recruitment) about recruitment going forward,” said Lennon.
“It is just business as usual, club business. And I am part of that.”
The caretaker boss might be aiming to keep himself in the Bhoys dugout beyond the summer but this persistence from Neil Lennon also has another angle to it.
You see, a number of the current first team players are out of contract at the end of the season while some loanees will also be returning back to the club during the summer.
So in all fairness, you would need someone like Neil Lennon to be present at the table when the management decides on the future of these players.
