This Spaniard is the current favourite to become the next Newcastle manager: A chance at redemption?

Unai Emery Arsenal

Former Arsenal manager Unai Emery is the current frontrunner to become the next Newcastle United manager.

The Chronicle Live are claiming that the St James’ Park outfit are willing to pay out the compensation required to bring Emery out of Villarreal in the coming months.

Unai Emery is not the only one who is in line to become the next Newcastle United manager as managers like Eddie Howe, Lucien Favre and Paulo Fonseca are also in the run.

But as per the report, Emery has moved above these managers and the bookmakers are ranking him as the favourite to sit in the NUFC dugout.

Will Unai Emery redeem himself in the Premier League as the next Newcastle United manager?

Unai Emery was in charge of Arsenal for 18 months but things did not go as planned for the 49-year-old. He managed 78 games and had a PPM of 1.85.

His time in North London was not particularly rosy so he was shown the door in 2019. But since then, he’s managed to redeem himself with Villarreal.

Unai Emery’s current deal with Villarreal expires in 2023 and he’s done some fantastic work with the La Liga side. But we don’t see why he won’t want to come back to the Premier League.

He will obviously want a second chance to prove himself in England and what better way to do it with a cash-rich side like Newcastle United.

At Newcastle, the manager will get almost unlimited funds to bring in new players and since they will be rebuilding from scratch a few failures will definitely be overlooked by the new owners.

The Magpies bosses are taking their time to find an heir to Steve Bruce and they look to be in no hurry to bring in their next permanent boss.

But suddenly Unai Emery jumping up the ladder might be a sign that the NUFC think tank have finally made up their mind as to who the next manager Newcastle United manager might be.

A Saudi backing means salary and personal terms will not be a problem for the Spanish manager so the only thing that’s left to match is the two parties’ ambitions and vision.
