Ever since Chelsea signed N’Golo Kante from Leicester City a couple of seasons ago, the Frenchman has gone onto become the fulcrum for the Blues.

But this summer everything changed with the appointment of Maurizio Sarri as the new Chelsea coach.

The Italian’s first signing for the club was Jorginho from his old club Napoli and the midfielder brought with him a reputation of being the deep-lying playmaker.

But little did the fans know that Jorginho’s placement in midfielder would mean that N’Golo Kante would be pushed to the right-hand side of midfield.

And Sarri even went on to say that Jorginho would be playing in that same position and it would be Kante who will have to adapt to his new role.

But six months into the new season, Jorginho has not particularly turned out to be a success at the club and many fans want the manager to give N’Golo Kante his old role back.

And here’s what the Italian boss had to say about the choice of giving back Kante his old position.

“Why? First I want to do very well the Plan A,” Sarri said.

“I don’t want to change something that isn’t working, I want to see it play well and then we look to change something.

“Everybody 10 years ago knew Barcelona, they won everything because they played well their football. I want to play my football.

“It depends what you want from Jorginho. If it is the last pass, then he has not adapted.

“He usually plays 40 or 45 metres from the goal, so it is impossible to do the last pass. He is very good at other things.”
