France won the 2018 World Cup in Russia and with that, the Les Bleus proved once again that their academy structure is perhaps the strongest in the world.

And teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe is without a doubt the aptest player to become the flag bearer of French football – for the coming decade.

But apart from the likes of Mbappe and Paul Pogba, there is one player who is adored and respected by not only the French but also every footballer in the world.

And that person is Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.

From playing in the Ligue 2 to winning the Premier League twice and then going on to lift the World Cup, N’Golo Kante’s journey in the past couple of seasons has been nothing but a fairytale.

And it is not only his humble nature that attracts all the respect but the tiny Frenchman is easily the best defensive midfielder there is in world football right now.

And maybe that is why Kylian Mbappe pushed the PSG management to sign N’Golo Kante this summer.

Yes, Kylian Mbappe alongside the likes of Presnel Kimpembe and Alphonse Areola were lobbying to bring Kante to PSG – according to reports.

PSG lost Thiago Motta at the end of the previous season to retirement and the above-mentioned trio thought N’Golo Kante would be the apt replacement for him.

The move though obviously did not go through as Kante is still with Chelsea and the French International is serving a new role under current boss Maurizio Sarri.
