West Ham United made a number of signing last summer and Pellegrini is planning to bring in a few more players at the end of the current season.

And it looks like the Hammers boss is planning a reunion with one of his old players.

As per reports, Pellegrini is looking to make a move for Man City defender Nicolas Otamendi during the summer transfer window after the player has fallen out of favour under Guardiola.

During the current season, Nicolas Otamendi has made only 17 Premier League appearances for City and right now he is the fourth choice defender after Laporte, Stones and Vincent Kompany.

So reports are suggesting that the 31-year-old is planning to leave Manchester City during the summer transfer window as a number of clubs are interested in signing him up.

The centre-back has received an offer from China but right now he does not want to move to the far east as he wishes to remain in the Premier League for a number of more seasons.

West Ham United though aren’t the only English club who are interested in signing Otamendi as reports suggest Wolves are also planning to make a move for him at the end of the season.

But the Hammers believe that the player’s close connection with Manuel Pellegrini will act as leverage in case the player is serious about moving out of the Etihad this summer.

Nicolas Otamendi is out of contract at Man City in 2022 and currently, TransferMarkt values the defender at €30 million.

And many experts believe that West Ham United will strike gold if they can bring on the experience of Nicolas Otamendi at such a price tag.

Wolves though are also on the hunt and many believe the attractive style of football that Nuno Espirito Santo plays at Molineux might just tempt Nicolas Otamendi to join them during the summer.
