Alfredo Morelos has been with Rangers FC for only two years now but already the Colombian has become the biggest asset to Steven Gerrard.
Last season, the striker scored a flurry of goals for the Gers and this year he’s already managed to net 22 goals in just 26 appearances for the club.
So naturally with such great goal-scoring talent, the player is bound to receive a lot of attention and many pundits claim Alfredo Morelos will be moving out of Rangers during the January transfer window.
A number of Premier League clubs have shown interest in signing the 23-year-old and with Morelos also interested in playing in England, it will be really hard for the Teddy Bears to keep him at the club.
But new sporting director Ross Wilson has come out to make a bold statement in which he’s made it clear that the club is not likely to sell off their best players during the middle of the season.
“Categorically. We want our best players to stay here as long as they possibly can,” 36-year-old Wilson said[as reported by the BBC].

“We understand that, like every other club in world football, there comes a point when players have to move on to something else for a variety of reasons.
“We’ll be no different to that, but it’s certainly not on the horizon in January.
“The first team has a number of players who could be really interesting for a number of clubs because the club is in a significantly better position than it was before and a lot of that is down to the recruitment and the work Steven and the coaching staff have done with the players.”
Rangers know pretty well they won’t be able to hold on to Alfred Morelos for one more season but Gerrard will know very well that the striker’s services will be needed if he intends to win the Scottish Premiership this season.
