Arsenal take on AFC Bournemouth at home this Wednesday in the Premier League.

The Gunners are currently fourth on the Premier League table with 53 points and a win vs the Cherries could very well mean that they might remain in that position until the end of the season.

Arsenal beat Southampton 2-0 on Sunday and this was the type of performances that we had seen from the London side during the first half of the season.

Unai Emery’s men had control of the game right from the first minute and everyone expects to see this same kind of performance on Wednesday.

While many fans have been claiming that the manager’s gameplan is finally coming into the foreground but it looks like Paul Merson is not too impressed with the Gunners’ muscle flexing vs the Saints.

Speaking to Sky Sports before the Arsenal vs Bournemouth game, Paul Merson said:

“Arsenal are flat-track bullies, aren’t they? They finish these teams off.

“With Bournemouth’s injuries, I can only see an Arsenal win. This would be another great result in the top-four race.

“One point ahead of United, I’m still not sure I see Arsenal getting Champions League.

“They’ve got a bad result in them. They will be caught up in the end.”

Merson has really hit the nail on the head as far as Arsenal’s run of form is concerned.

While the Gunners have hammered the smaller sides in the league but it is against the big sides that they often come out firing blanks.

And with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea breathing down the neck, most feel that the fourth spot on the table could be decided when these teams play each other.
