Manchester United beat Reading 2-0 in the FA Cup on Saturday meaning Solskjaer up until now is yet to drop a point.

Next up, Man United take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League in what will be the first big test for the new boss but before that the Red Devils have headed to Dubai.

Solskjaer revealed last week that he will be taking his team to Dubai for some warm weather training and on Sunday, the players and the staff headed off to their training camp.

But once the picture was released by Manchester United, the fans immediately noticed that Paul Pogba was not part of the travelling contingent.

As soon as this news broke, there were several rumours about why Paul Pogba was absent with the best conclusion being that Solskjaer had given the midfielder a week off after a series of good performances during the past couple of games.

But the club have been swift to clear the air about Paul Pogba’s absence.

Man United released a statement regarding Paul Pogba which read:

“The midfielder has been in impressive form of late and claimed the Player of the Month award for December, as voted for by fans, after registering four goals and four assists.

“The squad travelled to Dubai after Saturday’s 2-0 FA Cup win over Reading at Old Trafford for a training camp ahead of the Reds’ next Premier League outing, against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium next Sunday, 13 January.”

After the break, Man United will head down to Wembley to take on Spurs and if the Red Devils can pick up three points in that game then it will be more or less confirmed that Solskjaer has managed to revive the team.
