Manchester United restarted their Premier League season with a 1-1 draw vs Tottenham Hotspur and midfielder Paul Pogba did make a real positive impact.

The World Cup winner was brought on in the second half and it was he who managed to win the penalty for Man United, which was converted from the spot by Bruno Fernandes. And speaking after the match, pundit Gary Neville insisted that Paul Pogba is the one world-class player in United’s squad right now and he’s the perfect person to lead the charge next season.

“A committed Paul Pogba can be a great player for Manchester United,” Neville told Sky Sports.

“His goal and assist numbers are very good over the last couple of seasons. They are up there with the best.

“Hopefully with the economical problems and clubs can’t spend 80, 90,100 million on players, United will keep him. Pogba will then understand that’s he’s staying – all I ever want from him is commitment.

“I’ve never blamed him for United’s troubles, I do believe he’s the one true world-class player, although I would have put David de Gea in there two years ago.

“Pogba should be the one to lead from the front and if there’s speculation around his future it does create doubt in the dressing room. Now there’s a better chance of that team succeeding.”

Will Paul Pogba remain at Man United next season?

Almost every Man United fan would love to see Paul Pogba play regularly alongside Bruno Fernandes in midfield but there’s a massive chance the player could be on his way out this summer.

Clubs like Juventus and Real Madrid are really keen to sign him up at the end of the current season and if Mino Raiola had his way, the Frenchman would be out of Old Trafford in no time.

Solskjaer has time and again hinted that Paul Pogba is going nowhere but if the player himself wants to leave, we doubt if Man United will try and hold him back, especially with his contract nearing an end pretty soon.
