Chelsea have joined Premier League rivals Arsenal in the race to sign 27-year-old left-back Layvin Kurzawa, as per reports.

The French international joined PSG in 2015 from AS Monaco and his current deal with the club expires at the end of the current month. And many publications claim his next destination could be the English Premier League.

The Gunners have a long-standing interest in the full-back but now as per the rumours, Chelsea are keeping tabs on Layvin Kurzawa as the cheaper alternative to Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell.

Chilwell has a massive price tag on his shoulders and the Blues have already spent a lot of money in signing players like Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner. So naturally, Lampard thinks Layvin Kurzawa will be a perfect signing as a free agent.

Will Layvin Kurzawa move to the PL next season?

The Blues could send Emerson to Italy with Juventus keen to sign him while Arsenal also need a solid left-back option since Kieran Tierney has been really mediocre so far this season.

And Layvin Kurzawa is sure to attract a lot of attention given that he will be a free agent next month but now the latest updates from France are suggesting that PSG want to hold onto him and that they have offered him a new deal.

GFNF report: “France Football report that PSG have made 27-year-old left-back Layvin Kurzawa a shock 4-year contract extension, with his current contract due to expire at the end of the month.

“His entourage is shocked to have received the proposal and have responded with the demand to double their player’s current salary.

“A timeline has been fixed between now and the middle of July between the two parties to come to an extension agreement or not.”

This news, if true, is a major setback for both the London clubs since Layvin Kurzawa would have been a fine addition to their squads but if PSG want to hold onto him then there’s every chance the 27-year-old could choose to put pen on paper to the new deal.

But there are a number of experts who have doubts over this since this season, Kurzawa has managed to feature in only 14 Ligue 1 matches for PSG, most of them coming off the bench.
