Arsenal have seemingly joined Everton in the race to sign Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez – as per reports.

James Rodriguez joined Real Madrid in 2014 but the player has not yet been able to settle down at the Bernabeu and there have been several occasions when he has been on the verge of moving out.

Last season, he was sent out on loan to Bayern Munich and the player was hopeful of securing a permanent deal with the Bundesliga giants.

But eventually, he was sent back to Spain and so far has managed to play in only 7 La Liga games for the Los Blancos.

And recent reports have suggested that new Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti is eager to sign James Rodriguez during the current transfer window.

As per the rumours, despite a poor run of form, Real Madrid want around £34 million for the midfielder which is surely a steep price for someone who has played only 515 minutes this campaign for Madrid.

While this amount will surely not fend off Everton who are eager to rebuild for the next season but it looks like the price tag has now also brought in the interest of Arsenal.

Reports in Spain as quoted by the English media are suggesting that the Gunners are looking to make a move for James Rodriguez and want to close the deal before deadline day.

Dani Ceballos is no longer part of Arteta’s plans at Arsenal meaning the manager is looking to bring in a new attacking midfielder and if things fall perfectly into place then James Rodriguez could be that man.

Real Madrid are in no hurry to sell off the Colombian but if either Everton or Arsenal are willing to pay the right price then surely the La Liga outfit will not hesitate to let the 28-year-old leave.
