Manchester City parted ways with midfielder Yaya Toure at the end of the 2017-18 season in what everyone thought was a perfect goodbye.

But just weeks after moving out of the Etihad, Toure has gone on to claim that Pep Guardiola did not treat all his players equally – hinting at a possible racist mentality.

Toure who managed to make only 17 appearances in the whole of last season under Guardiola has claimed that the Spanish manager refused to treat him equally which he thinks might be because of his skin colour.

Yaya said: “I have the impression that Pep, without acknowledgement or respect, did everything to spoil my last season.

“He was cruel to me. Do you really think he could’ve been like that with Andres Iniesta? It got to the point I asked myself if it was because of my colour. I’m not the first, other Barca players asked the question too.

“Maybe us Africans aren’t always treated the same by certain people. When you see the problems [Pep] has often had with African players, everywhere he has been, I ask myself questions.”

At first, both Pep Guardiola and Manchester City refused to make any comment on this situation but the Etihad boss recently shared his thoughts while talking in a Spanish TV show.

Guardiola said: “It is a lie, he knows it.

“We were together two years and it is only now when he says it. He never told me face to face.”

This though is not the first time that Toure has left(or been forced to leave) a club which is being managed by Pep Guardiola.

Now Toure’s representative has publicly stated that the midfielder’s playing days are far from over and he desperately wants to prove it to the City boss.

Dimitri Seluk has claimed that the 35-year-old will be more than happy to play for any of the top six Premier League sides on a weekly wage of £1 just to prove Guardiola wrong.
