Former Liverpool forward Philippe Coutinho is expected to head back to the Premier League this summer and it seems like Chelsea could be his next destination – as per reports.
The Brazilian is currently out on loan to Bayern Munich and even though the Germans have an option to buy as per the latest rumours, the Bavarians will not trigger this clause meaning Philippe Coutinho will return back to Barcelona.
And to make matter worse for the player, Barcelona have no intentions of holding onto him and will look to send him off on yet another loan deal before the next season kicks off.
Last summer too Philippe Coutinho was expected to move out of the club and join Spurs but this time it seems Chelsea are the frontrunners to signing him.
As per reports, the Stamford Bridge outfit have opened talks with Barcelona about a possible loan deal for Philippe Coutinho and they are confident that the La Liga will agree to a move.
The Blues will possibly have to pay £28million to sign Coutinho on a season-long loan deal which will surely not cause any major impact on their transfer budget.
During the 2019-20 season, Philippe Coutinho has played in 22 Bundesliga games scoring eight and assisting six goals meaning he still can prove to be a big asset for a club like Chelsea who are desperately looking to get back to challenging for the Premier League title next season.
Will Spurs miss out on Philippe Coutinho?
Philippe Coutinho was pretty close to joining Spurs before the start of the season but it was Mauricio Pochettinho who wanted him at White Hart Lane.
And now that Jose Mourinho is in charge of the Lilywhites, many people feel that the club might not be chasing the Brazilian which would mean that Chelsea will be running a one-horse race to signing the player.
While the likes of Man United and Arsenal have also been linked with the forward but we don’t think they will try and sign him during the upcoming transfer window.
