Liverpool beat Spurs in the Champions League final this past weekend and with that, the Reds ended more than a decade long wait to become the kings of Europe.

Mo Salah opened the scoring within the first few minutes of the match as he converted from the penalty spot after Moussa Sissoko handled the ball inside the penalty area.

Then despite constant pressure from the Lilywhites, Liverpool managed to hold onto their lead and finally it was substitute Divock Origi who put the final nail in the coffin.

Divock Origi was brought on to replace Roberto Firmino as Klopp wanted to introduce some fresh legs but the 24-year-old was able to score the second goal which more or less sealed the victory for Liverpool.

But oddly enough, speaking after the game, Italian legend Andrea Pirlo made a very weird analysis of Divock Origi.

“If he hadn’t scored, they should have hit him. He did not have the attitude expected in a Champions League final. Therefore, I did not like it,” Pirlo told Sky Italia(as translated).

Fans are not too pleased about what Pirlo has said since the forward has popped up with key goals all throughout the season. Both in the Premier League as well as in Europe.

But everything that Pirlo said about Liverpool was not negative.

The former midfielder also pointed out how the Liverpool fans played a key role in helping their side overcome the pressure created by Spurs.

“The match was won by the Liverpool fans. Tottenham had no personality, people like Alli or Eriksen did not want the ball,” the Italian added.

“There was little quality in the midfield and what happened at the start set the game off track. Anyway, it was a well-deserved victory because of the season completed by Liverpool and their fans’ support”
