Liverpool might be flying high in the Premier League this season but it is their Champions League campaign that has Jurgen Klopp a bit worried.
The Reds have been pitched in Gropu C alongside the likes of Napoli and PSG and without a doubt, it is one of the most open groups in the UCL this season.
Napoli lead the group with six points followed by Liverpool who are tied on points with the Italian club but are second based on goal difference.
PSG are right on their heels with five points followed by Red Star Belgrade who are last in the group – but they are on four points.
This means that every team has a theoretical chance of qualifying for the knockout stages and in such a situation Liverpool travel to Paris in order to take on PSG this week.
And before the high profile game, Jurgen Klopp has received some not so good news.
Last week it was reported that Neymar and Kylian Mbappe both could miss the Champions League clash vs Liverpool due to injuries.
Neymar picked up a right adductor injury while Kylian Mbappe was suffering from a bruised shoulder – both picked up during the international break.
And as soon as this report broke many Liverpool fans were hoping that their team had a realistic chance of picking up all three points against PSG this week.
But now it is being said that the PSG duo have been declared fit to face Liverpool.
PSG boss Thomas Tuchel said on Saturday that both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe were in contention for the Champions League game and now reports are suggesting that the duo’s injury are not too serious.
“I am more optimistic than yesterday about Ney and Kylian,” said the German manager.
“They will be able to train on Monday.”
The PSG vs Liverpool game will be a must-win game for the Paris outfit and a loss for them would mean that they might have to play in the Europa League next year(given Napoli beat Red Star).
While a loss for Liverpool would mean that Jurgen Klopp’s men will have to beat Napoli in the final group game and hope that Red Star pick up some points against PSG.
