Rangers are expected to bring in a couple of new players during the summer and many believed that Motherwell winger Jack Hastie would be one of them.

Jack Hastie has come up through the ranks at the Motherwell academy and this season, he has really caught the attention of many clubs with his fine performances.

During the 2018-19 season, the winger has played in 38 games for the Steelmen scoring 10 goals and providing seven assists.

Jack Hastie is out of contract at Motherwell at the end of the season and Rangers had made contact with the winger for a pre-contract a couple of weeks ago.

But now reports are suggesting the Gers have pulled out of the race and will no longer be pursuing the 21-year-old.

The report suggests that Rangers are frustrated with how long it is taking for this simple deal to close and hence Gerrard is looking at other options.

But if other rumours are to be believed then the Teddy Bears might have given up the chase because they knew they wouldn’t win it.

A number of English clubs have shown interest in signing Jack Hastie during the summer but it looks like the winger could be heading to the MLS in order to join Atlanta United.

The move to Frank de Boer’s club is also certain which might be the reason why Rangers have decided to pull out of a lost cause.
