Rangers FC forward Alfredo Morelos has once again been in stellar form this season and it’s his European performances that seem to be catching everyone’s eyes.

So far, the South American has scored three and assisted seven goals in eight Europa League matches for the Gers and according to Alan Hutton, these performances could eventually see him join a bigger European club in the summer.

Hutton told Football Insider: “To be involved in eight goals out of nine is just incredible for any player in any league. He was unplayable.

“It was funny to hear Gerrard say he thinks he’s got that twinkle in his eye in the European competitions because obviously, me knowing and moving from Rangers, that’s when the scouts were watching it.

“It was the European nights, the international games. He definitely turns it on under the lights, that’s for sure. Ultimately, that’s what’s best for both parties.

“We obviously know he’s a prized asset for Rangers but if the right fee comes in, he’s off, he will leave. Him doing his best for Rangers is helping the team and what they want to do moving forward.

“For personal reasons, people are watching him thinking: ‘Right, he is the main man. He is the real deal and he’s a player we’d love to have at our club.’ That’s the way you have to think as a football player.

“You have to be playing well at your club for anybody even to look at you. He’s doing well on the pitch at the moment and that’s all Gerrard can ask for.

“The thought of being involved in eight goals out of nine is incredible.”

Alfredo Morelos has been itching to join a new club over the past year and it finally seems like his wish will come true.

Gerrard managed to hold onto him this campaign but Morelos has only two more years left on his current deal at Rangers FC so the manager will now have make a definite decision.

Steven Gerrard will obviously want to hold onto the 24-year-old for one more season but if the right offer comes by then he will have no other choice but to let him leave. But at least, these fine European performances are making sure that Rangers FC will not have to settle for a cut-price deal for one of their star players.

Morelos has shown a desire to join a Premier League side in the future but there’s also a chance that he could be playing in the Ligue 1 next season.
