Rangers vs Leipzig

Rangers FC have so far tried to improve every area of the pitch under their new manager Steven Gerrard but the manager has been desperate to land a third centre-back before the transfer window shuts down this Friday.

The Light Blues have signed Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic during the summer transfer window but the manager has made it clear that he needs a backup defender especially if his team manage to get into the Europa League.

And now it seems that the Gers are finally set to get their man and the deal could be wrapped up by early Wednesday.

Reports suggest that Rangers have agreed on a season-long loan deal to sign Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall.

Worrall has fallen down the pecking order at the Championship club and is now behind the likes of Michael Dawson, Danny Fox, Michael Hefele and Tobias Figueiredo. So naturally, the Nottingham Forest manager has been eager to send him out on loan.

The possibility of Joe Worrall joining Rangers had been doing the rounds for a couple of days now but it seemed that Forest were not eager to send the player out on loan to Ibrox thinking that the defender will not receive proper game time at the club.

Now though reports suggest that the Light Blues manager has personally held talks with Forest boss Aitor Karanka assuring him that the club intends to use Joe Worrall almost every week.

And this seems to have convinced the Championship club who have allowed Joe Worrall to move to Scotland and join Rangers FC for the 2018-19 season.

Reports from Scotland suggest that the deal is expected to be wrapped up by Wednesday and there is a high possibility that Joe Worrall is included in the Europa League squad which is set to take on FC Ufa this Thursday.
