Rangers FC manager Steven Gerrard is planning to make a move for Kilmarnock midfielder Jordan Jones but the Gers are not the only club interested in the player.

Rangers’ interest in the 23-year-old is nothing new with the club having lodged a £350,000 bid for the midfielder during the January transfer window. That bid though was swiftly rejected by the Scottish outfit but as per the latest reports, the Light Blues are plotting a second raid for Jordan Jones.

Jones started off his career with Championship side Middlesborough and after a series of loan spells with Hartlepool and Cambridge United, the Northern Ireland international finally moved to Kilmarnock in June of 2016.

Rangers’ bid during the January transfer window was rejected by Kilmarnock citing reasons that the price tabled by the Gers was nowhere close to what Jones’ side wanted for him.

Now though reports suggest that Rangers are planning to up the price and are planning to offer 1 million pounds for the services of Jordan Jones.

Steven Gerrard’s side aren’t the only club interested in the 23-year-old as rumours have it that Championship side Derby County are also interested in Jones.

Derby are currently managed by Gerrard’s former England teammate Frank Lampard and the prospect of working with the former Chelsea man can seriously affect Jordan Jones’ future move.

Another major factor in choosing Derby County over Rangers is the fact that Lampard’s side play in the Championship which potentially is the gateway to the Premier League.

So clearly might will not be the only factor that will influence Jordan Jones’ decision and Steven Gerrard might have to go out of his way and convince the youngster about Rangers’ future plans along with the midfielder’s role in it.
