Liverpool will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final and right now there is a slight doubt over the participation of Roberto Firmino.

Roberto Firmino along with Mane and Salah has been key to Liverpool’s success this season but the forward has missed the past few games with an injury.

Reports suggested that the Brazilian had picked up a muscle strain as a result of which he was rested for the final three Premier League games.

And some reports had even gone on to suggest that Roberto Firmino might not be fit in time to play vs Spurs in the UCL final.

Now though, the club have laid to rest all those doubts after revealing that the forward has returned back to training.

Roberto Firmino took part in his first training session since picking up the injury and now the club have released an official statement giving an update on the Brazilian.

“Roberto Firmino today trained alongside his teammates following a muscle strain that ruled him out of Liverpool’s last three matches,” the statement read.

“The Brazilian took part in the Reds’ first session of their Marbella training camp on Tuesday morning as he works his way back to full fitness.

“Firmino has been working with the club’s medical staff on his rehabilitation from the issue and his reintroduction into full team training will be carefully managed under their supervision, with specialised programmes planned over the coming days.”

With Roberto Firmino out, Divock Origi had been seeing a large chunk of game time during the final few matches of the season.

But now that the 27-year-old is expected to be fully fit, Origi will once again move back to the bench when Liverpool take on Spurs in the Champions League final at the Metropolitano.
