Barcelona have chosen to part ways with Samuel Umtiti and a number of other players in a bid to make a couple of high profile signings – as per reports.

Samuel Umtiti joined the Catalans in 2016 from Lyon but the defender has had a really mixed time in Spain.

While he had a wonderful first season but as time has gone by his career has been riddled with injuries.

During the 2018-19 season, he spent most of the time out on the sidelines due to a knee injury and in that time, Lenglet took his place in the first XI.

And now it looks like Ernesto Valverde has put his up for sale in order to bring in players like Neymar and Antoine Griezmann.

Signing these two heavyweight players will require massive funds and as per reports, Barcelona are willing to sell off Samuel Umtiti for a transfer fee of around €60 million.

Sport are reporting: “Barcelona, who are trying to sign both Antoine Griezmann and Neymar this summer, need to sell to bring in all the players they want.

“Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele are among the candidates to go — as is France defender Samuel Umtiti.

The report says Barça have also told other European clubs that they’re open to selling Umtiti and that they have even named a price: 60 million euros.”

Man United have been heavily linked with a move for Harry Maguire but Leicester are demanding around €80 million which is a rather steep price to pay given that they have already spent heavily on signing Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James.

The Red Devils have been previously linked with Samuel Umtiti but as time went by, the rumours have died down.

But now that Barcelona have put his up for sale, it would make more sense for Solskjaer to ditch a move for Harry Maguire and try to sign Samuel Umtiti.
